It was Amir, from Behruz Studio, who was in charge of ensuring all elements of design from each artwork were captured with the right movement and colour placement. To do this, he and Behruz travelled to Nepal with hard copy proofs of each artwork to discuss with the graph masters how each artwork was to be translated as a rug. Once the graph masters had a clear understanding of each design and the colour and yarn selections were confirmed, they then hand drew the designs onto graph paper. The graph paper was constructed to the actual shape each rug was to be woven to and the design was then plotted by hand onto the graph paper. Once drawn every tiny square was coloured, as per the colour selections made by Bridget and Anna. The graph was then hung above the loom for the weavers to follow with each tiny square being one knot.
